MAFOD is really disturbed and despondent about catalogue of events which pre-ceded the cruel and untimely death of our father, brother, husband and friend, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, ex-president of the Republic of Ghana.
It is for this reason that on the third anniversary of the death of this illustrious son of Ghana, we want to draw the attention of President John Mahama and his NDC government to the need to allow family and indeed Ghanaians to know the cause of the man who wanted to have him (President Mahama) investigated.
MAFOD requests for the cause of death of our late President, just like millions of Ghanaians, because unfolding events and management of the economy after his death give clear evidence of a shining day for a group of selfish, gluttons, thieves, and nation rickets at business. Ghana can be said to be retrogressing and nothing, absolutely nothing give sign of hope in the nation now.
Increasing break of statutory laws, shifting of central government responsibilities to parents, insulting citizens who ask politely of their fair share of the national cake, corruption, mismanagement and enriching a few whilst majority wallow in unspeakable poverty is the tag on our nation.
As if that is not enough, the longest dumsor in our history, appointment of foreigners to man state organizations, building of mansions for girl friends and families in Dubai, Kitase Akuapem etc., none payment for GetFund projects executed, common fund, capitation grant; collapsing school feeding programme and National health scheme, high utility tariffs, stagnant salary of workers, and none provision of essentials for productive public sector are all getting to unbearable levels under President Mahama and his NDC.
MAFOD believes the deliberate cover-up of the cause of death of late Prof Mills by President Mahama and his NDC conduits is a clear indication that their modus operandi in ruling the nation is one of cover-ups, secrecy, senseless, heartless, inner-looking and above all a high degree of irresponsibility and incompetence.
MAFOD posits that when the cause of death of the late President is known, this would help put in measures to protect President Mahama himself, future presidents and other statesmen from another sudden death. The long held believe that this NDC under President Mahama is known for cover-ups of wrongs would be eliminated by allowing the family and Ghanaians to know the cause of death of late Prez Mills.
MAFOD is in the known that the late President had a special aide, a personal doctor and exclusive access to the Castle Clinic.
MAFOD has a twelve-point question we need answers to (if the NDC government finds it respectful to Ghanaians). These include:
(i) Where was the personal aide to late Prof. Mills on that Tuesday?
(ii) Who served the late Prof. Mills meals on that Tuesday?
(iii) Was the late President poisoned?
(iv) Who was/were with late Prof. Mills on that faithful day?
(v) Did the Castle clinic operate on that Tuesday?
(vi) Who ordered the staff not to operate and why?
Again,
(vii) Where was the late Professor’s personal doctor on the Tuesday?
(viii) Who drove late Prof Mills to the 37 Military Hospital and in which car?
(ix) Where were the Castle Ambulance drivers; if absent who sent them far from the Castle?
(x) Where was the Presidential motor cage on that Tuesday?
(xi) Was there a prior arrangement with the 37 Military hospital to properly receive our late President. If yes, why was he sent to the labour ward first?
(xii) Where is the autopsy report of the late Prof. Mills three (3) years after his death?
Conclusion
MAFOD is of the opinion that the deliberate cover-up of the cause of death of the late Pres Mills has caused some prominent men and women even in the NDC to fold up arms whilst babies with sharp teeth are parading the corridors of power, wasting public funds with their inexperience, irresponsible and incompetence persona.
As early as possible, President Mahama and his NDC government should, as a matter of urgency, show the Ghanaian public and the world over transparency and accountability in governance by making the autopsy report of late President John Fiifi Atta Mills, a statesman and a son of this soil, public for us to know the cause of the death of our beloved brother, father and compatriot.
