Open Letter to Honourable Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng

Fri, 27 Mar 2015 Source: Adofo, Rockson

Dear Honourable Kyeremateng,

Peace be unto you. The ongoing worsening living standards of Ghanaians brought about by the intentional or otherwise, policies, actions and inactions of President Mahama and his NDC government have necessitated the writing of this letter to you.

Many a suffering Ghanaian, beset with seemingly irredeemable financial problems resulted from the cluelessness, incompetence and deliberately implemented myopic policies of near-institutional corruption by President Mahama's NDC government, is yearning for NPP to come to power soon. They are eager for a change of political baton from NDC to NPP.

However, the NPP will not be able to live up to the aspirational expectations of the suffering Ghanaian masses presupposing that they allow the obvious inimical divisions within the party and among the party members, to continue unabated into, and beyond, year 2016.

You are aware that there exist two camps in NPP since year 2008 until today. They are "Nana Akufo Addo's Camp" and "Alan Kyeremateng's Camp". With these two rival camps in NPP, one begrudging the other with unimaginable animosity, how can NPP win power in 2016 as hoped for by many a Ghanaian faced with imminent destitution under President Mahama/Arthur-Amissah-led NDC government? These suffering Ghanaian masses are prayerfully aspiring to see a change in government; the two rival camps must take notice.

The bible says at Matthew 12:24-26 "24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end"

I am aware of the situation where most of the people in your camp are wishing for the defeat of NPP in Election 2016 simply for their unreasonable hatred of Nana Akufo Addo. Their minds are clouded by their unfounded animosity towards him as a person, to hope, and work underhand, to bring about NPP's defeat in 2016 without showing any little compassion for the suffering Ghanaians clamouring for a change in government.

There is rife rumour in Ghana and worldwide, especially among the NPP faithful, sympathisers etc. that some people within the NPP, especially the top brass of your camp members, have mooted, and assiduously working on, an idea of Agenda 2020. By this, they will sabotage Nana Akufo Addo and NPP in 2016.

Be that as it may, I shall strongly advise you to reconsider your intentions and subsequently rein in your activists. Such intentions will not do anyone in Ghana any good. How on earth, will a discerning Ghanaian, under the present precarious economic situation intentionally or otherwise, brought about to bear upon Ghanaians by President Mahama's incompetence, cluelessness and avid interest in corruption, wish the NDC to continue to remain in power beyond year 2016?

I know that in the existential lives of some Ghanaians, they will not mind a farthing how bad a situation becomes for their perceived enemies or opponents. As long as they are not in that enviable prestigious position of their purported enemy, to hell with him/her and whoever depends on them for a reason or the other? Is this what you intend for Ghanaians and Nana Akufo Addo in case you are supportive of the actions of your Camp members of whom Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Paul Afoko, Ohene Ntow and Okatakyie Agyemang Kwame Opoku are suspects?

There is a saying that goes, "Today is tomorrow's yesterday, therefore, do not put to tomorrow what you can do today, for tomorrow may be too late for what you can do today". In fact, the proverbial statement above is simply a "had I known which is always at last".

You had better not think about year 2020 but rather 2016 which is close by. Ghanaians cannot endure further plundering of the nation's coffers with the perpetuation of injustices in Ghana as being orchestrated by the Mahama government.

There are many ways to serve one's country and people. It is not necessarily being a President of the country. If the NPP have not elected you their flagbearer for 2016, please do support whoever has been elected while waiting patiently for your turn in future. There shouldn't be any acts of sabotage of any sorts against whoever is currently known to have been massively endorsed by the party to represent them for election 2016 as their flagbearer.

Please help unite the party by advising your followers who are uncompromisingly sabotaging Nana Addo and NPP to prove their diabolical accusatory point of Nana Addo being too old for the flagbearer's position, to desist from their habits. If they really care about Ghana and the suffering Ghanaians, now is the time for them to show their love by rallying behind Nana Akufo Addo and NPP to win Election 2016 to set the Ghanaian captives free from the killer NDC and President Mahama's corruption and teeming instances of acts of injustice.

Honourable Alan Cash, please note that "it does not belong to he who is leading to redirect their steps".

I hope you will listen to my admonition in good faith.

Yours Sincerely,

Rockson Adofo
