After spewing lies and tons of promises to Ghanaians in the run up to the 2016 general elections and winning the elections, members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have resorted to tickling themselves and laughing thinking that 2020 general elections would be “cool chop” for them again.
National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku who is vying for the National Organizer position in the upcoming national executive elections of the party says he is going to be a torn in the flesh of former President John Mahama again come 2020.
Sammy Awuku who was speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” stated, “Mahama is not going to have it easy and trust me, he won’t have a jolly ride when he is elected the flagbearer of the NDC. I’m going to be a thorn in his flesh just as I was in the run-up to the 2016 elections. As a national organizer, I’m going to be more deadly to him than I was a youth organizer”.
Hahahaha! Small boys are young. Sammy Awuku has suddenly forgotten that the tables of governance have turned and that Ghanaians are seriously waiting for 2020 to give the NPP terminal report of their performance.
Ghanaians are patiently waiting for one district one, factory; one million dollars, one constituency; one village, one dam; and all the numerous promises yet to be fulfilled amidst series of corrupt scandals happening now and then including contaminated fuel by BOST, the controversial Kelni GVG deal by the Ministry of Communications and the National Communications Authority, the dubious $1.2 billion cost of national identification card programme, Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia in Kwesi Nyantakyi’s pocket, and alleged involvement of the presidency in fuel smuggling among others.
Surely more corrupt scandals involving government officials and appointees are coming before 2020 and it would overwhelm Sammy Awuku to the extent that his thorn will be blunt and cannot penetrate Mahama’s flesh but rather choke Nana Akufo-Addo’s throat.
Sammy Awuku should rather sharpen his deadly thorn and start poking his flesh and that of his party’s bunch of corrupt officials and appointees when he is elected as the national organizer of the NPP instead of still thinking like a baby.
Grow up, Sammy Awuku. You are no longer a baby in pampers. Let your deadly thorn deflate the bloated 110 ministerial appointments which is eventually going to increase with the creation of more regions. Continue to tickle yourself and laugh. Time will tell. You think the haphazard implementation of one-third free senior high school programme is the panacea to Ghana’s problems.
A word to a wise is on the 2020 presidential and parliamentary ballot papers.
