This spiritual shrew-mouse called Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, is notorious as a prophet of doom. He is no stranger to us, even as he continues to worsen his public perception.

He is out today, saying that he has a prophecy that there would be a coup d’état in Ghana and emphasizing the role of the mass media in it. As is characteristic of him, he claims to have prayed with only one consequence—to forestall it.

He has made such outrageous claims; but the one concerning the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has landed him on the ropes for tons of devastating punches. It is only he who can save himself.

What the Christian Council cannot do, the Asanteman Council can to tame this spiritual wild horse, Rev. Owusu-Bempah.

The Head of the Spiritual Division of Asanteman (Nsumankwaahene), Baffuor Asabre Kogyawoasu Ababio III, is demanding unreserved apology from him to the Asantehene, or face the wrath of the deities of Asanteman.

In an exclusive interview with Adom TV’s Nana Akua Afriyie, the Nsumankwaahene of Asanteman hinted that, the Asanteman Traditional Council is still deliberating on the issue and that Rev. Owusu-Bempah has a grace period to either show remorse and apologize to the Asante kingdom and its King, or face the wrath of the gods.

“One cannot seek for popularity at the expense of the Golden Stool and if Owusu-Bempah knows what is best for him, he better apologize to the King or curse his own stars.

"The gods being quiet now doesn’t mean they won’t talk, he (Owusu-Bempah) is sitting on a time bomb” he warned.

MY COMMENTS

Kudos to the Asanteman/Manhyia authorities for taking this line of action to tame this quack. I am happy that “the deities of Asanteman” are now being readied and pitted against Owusu-Bempah and his “Christian God” in this encounter to prove who is who or what is what.

Not because I am bothered really about such a spiritual contest but because I know it will reveal the coward and quack in Rev. Owusu-Bempah who, deep down him knows that he is a quack but who on the surface plays God.

Now is the time to see what Owusu-Bempah is made of. I suppose he is an Asante himself and knows the value of what constitutes Asante, at least, from what the history books have told us: the spiritual, cultural, political, and everything that embodies Manhyia as the fount of authority in Asanteman.

If he feigns ignorance, let me remind him that every legitimate Asante reveres the “Great Oath of Asante” and is careful not to fall foul of anything to warrant its being invoked.

Will Owusu-Bempah apologize—and make a mockery of his gift of prophecy—or refuse to invoke and expose his underbelly to be attacked?

Heeeeeeeeeee… hee… heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! I can’t wait to see how this scenario unfolds and ends eventually. But I am certain of the conclusion: that Asanteman will tame Owusu-Bempah to our relief. Too much of the quack in him!! He will be exorcized sooner than later.

Then, his fate should alert others like him of the danger they expose themselves to when they turn the Word of God upside down for self-aggrandizement. They are all over the place, manipulating the gullible followers and doing partisan politics under the guise of prophecies. They and their doomsday prophetic missions will be exposed and punished.

Ghanaians need more than their scare-mongering escapades, which betray them as charlatans. Let Asanteman use Rev. Owusu-Bempah as “a sacrificial wolf” to prove that when it comes to matters of the spirit, shouting “Halleluia… Halleluia… all over the place” doesn’t ensure piety.

I shall return…
