The Focus of Global Warming by G-8 Leaders: What does it mean to Ghana?

Mon, 20 Jul 2009 Source: Yeboah, Stephen

Conclusion

If the life of the environment is not salvage from harmful human activities in the country then surely there is no hope for the future of Ghana. Our efforts to achieve the targets of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015 would certainly be a mirage when the needed attention and due consideration is not given to these dreadful acts that are derailing the capacity of the environment to support the future generation. Environmentalists and Civil Society Organisations should rise up to this uphill task in ensuring all inclusive approach to development. We are not in the era of Manifest Destiny which holds that the earth cannot be depleted with the increase in human activities. Protection of the environment (curtailing global warming) is significant for the realization of development in Ghana.
