Sampson Asorgbah of the Achimota Golf Club has won the Vodafone 62nd Asantehene Open Golf Championship, held at the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi.
The winner, who had 299 medal points in the Men's Scratch, was presented with a trophy by the Asantehene, who was the Special Guest of Honour.
Asorgbah also took home souvenirs donated by Vodafone, the headline sponsors.
In the Ladies Championship, Constance Awuni of the Royal Golf Club emerged the winner with 169 points and was presented with a trophy and souvenirs.
In the Professionals' Category, Sunday Olapade, a Nigerian, had 285 points to emerge the winner, and was presented with a trophy.
Seth Apeadu of the Royal Golf Club won the Seniors' Category with 30 points and received a trophy and souvenirs.
In the Men's Handicap, Yaw Tinkorang of Achimota Golf Club emerged the winner with 143 points, while Gizela Palmer of the Royal Golf Club won the Ladies' Handicap with 151 points.
They were both presented with trophies and souvenirs.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu lauded the participants for demonstrating professionalism and sense of sportsmanship.
He stressed the need for the nation to take golf development seriously to help unearth talents, especially amongst the youth.
More than 300 professional and amateur golfers across the West African sub-Region took part in the four-day programme.
