GEC Open returns to Ghana

GEC Open, one of the most-awaited premium corporate golf tournaments in the World returns to Ghana for the fourth consecutive time and this year the trains stops at the Achimota Golf Club after the first round at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi. With expected participation from over 150 corporate executives and industry stalwarts, the tournament will be held on the 7th and 14th September at the Royal Golf Club and Achimota Golf Club respectively.

This year, GEC Open Ghana plans to commence its activities with ever the first Golf taster in partnership with Lynncare Foundation on the 24th of August 2019 at the Achimota Golf Range and follows with a thought leadership session at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel on the 29th of August 2019. On the panel are industry leaders such as Mr. Frank Adu Jnr, Mr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Mr. Ben Barth, Mr. Kofi Agyei and Mr. O. Ofori Boateng.

Mr. Kwaku Asare Ofosuhene, who is the Head of Operations, West Africa explained that GEC believes business is beautiful when it’s a vehicle for serving the common good. “We are committed to creating an economic networking platform that will forge not only local, but cross-border relationships with the underlining theme of ‘giving back to society’- An initiative that would replace corporate globalization with a global network of local living economies”

The coveted tournament will be played in two handicap categories with golfers vying for a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Ghana at the world final - Dubai Corporate Golf World Cup. Two winners from Ghana will battle it out against top amateurs from around the world over two days at the Jumeriah Golf Club in March 2020.

We will continue to expand this platform and associate GEC Open with more golfers and corporates across the globe. This year, GEC Open is growing bigger with tournaments in over 34 countries including 54 of world’s best golf courses to connect more than 3700+ leaders in our ecosystem, says Mr. Ofosuhene.
