The Medical Laboratory Professional Workers' Union (MELPWU) is continuing its nationwide strike, which began on June 17, despite the Ministry of Health's appeal to return to negotiations.
The strike has affected healthcare services, with the Manhyia Government Hospital suspending planned surgeries and closing its theatre.
Only emergency surgery cases are being attended to, and patients seeking lab services are being turned away.
MELPWU's First Vice Chairman, Dr. Franklyn Armah, urges the government to swiftly resolve the issue so that members can return to work.
