The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has identified fast food consumption as a major contributor to rising non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Ghana.
Changing lifestyles and increased fast food intake, especially among the youth, are leading to higher NCD risk factors.
At the 47th Annual General & Scientific Meeting, Dr. Afua Commey of the GHS highlighted the urgent need to address these issues, noting that Ghana's NCD risk factors are escalating faster than neighboring countries.
Dr. Sammy Ohene, Vice President of the Ghana Chapter of the West African College of Physicians, emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental health, a leading NCD.
