The project to upgrade Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) into a world-class medical facility has stalled at 40% completion due to challenges in procuring construction materials, worsened by the Cedi’s depreciation.
Sammy Adu Boakye, Chairman of the HEAL KATH Project, highlighted the impact of the exchange rate and called for more contributions to speed up progress.
He expressed disappointment over the lack of support from local mining companies, banks, and churches, urging these groups to join the effort.
Despite fundraising success, Boakye stressed that more involvement is needed to push the project forward.
