The Ashanti Regional Health Directorate Ebola Response Team has taken for test the blood samples of a suspected Ebola patient who is on admission at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital.
The patient, who is not a Ghanaian, was said to have shown symptoms of the disease when he was rushed to the Hospital on Tuesday.
When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the Hospital in Kumasi on Wednesday, the patient had been quarantined awaiting the results of the test of his blood samples sent to the Noguchi Memorial Research Institute.
Dr Yaw Bio, Director in-charge of the Hospital, told the GNA, that the patient is doing well, and gave the assurance that the Hospital had taken serious measures to respond swiftly to all suspected Ebola cases.
He debunked rumours that the Hospital had been closed down as a result of the suspected Ebola case.
