La General Hospital will be built in 28 months – Okoe Boye

Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has reaffirmed the government's commitment to completing the La General Hospital, originally demolished in July 2020 due to its deteriorating condition.

Rebuilding has been delayed, but Dr. Okoe Boye assured that the government will fund the project due to inconsistent loan funds, aiming for a 28-month completion target.

According to the Minister about $9 million has been allocated to the contractor. The new hospital will alleviate pressure on the Police and Teaching Hospitals.

Dr. Okoe Boye dismissed claims that the reconstruction was a political ploy, emphasizing the project's importance for enhancing general health services in the region.
