The Renal Patients Association of Ghana has called on political parties to prioritize affordable dialysis treatment nationwide.
This follows the National Democratic Congress (NDC) pledge to build modern dialysis centers across regions without these facilities.
Kojo Ahenkorah, the association’s spokesperson, welcomed the proposal but stressed the need to address the high costs of treatment.
He highlighted the struggles of patients who travel long distances for dialysis, urging for both the expansion of facilities and a reduction in treatment costs to improve accessibility and ease the burden on patients.
