The Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) in northern Ghana is facing an oxygen supply disruption due to engine damage at its oxygen plant, which shut down on July 1, 2024.
Public Relations Officer Zuberu Alidu stated that technical experts were working on the issue but did not provide a resolution timeline.
Alidu assured the public that the situation was under control, with oxygen supplies sourced from Kumasi.
The hospital is coordinating with regional facilities to manage referrals.
Additionally, the hospital has deployed oxygen concentrators to alleviate the shortage, with staff hopeful for a swift resolution.
