The upcoming program which is expected to draw hundreds of Ghanaians to the venue at Dome Market will start from 7 am and end at 4 pm. Services the group intends rendering include Health Screening/ counseling, Blood pressure Monitoring, Glucose / Sugar testing, Hepatitis B testing & counseling and host of others.

Health Aid Medicare is a registered organization set up to provide free health and medical screening for the public, especially to the marginalized and underprivileged people in the society.

The group which operates with the motto Preventive Medicine, Our Priority is made up of medical doctors and other health practitioners who have the requisite skills in both preventive and curative medicine to run these exercises.

The overall aim is to ensure that most Ghanaians become conscious of their health through consistent education and testing and to ensure preventable deaths are reduced to the barest minimum.

In recent times, the center for disease control and prevention has indicated that the cause of many deaths among Ghanaians are related to key health conditions establishing themselves in the country. Stroke, Ischaemic Heart Disease, Diabetes, Hypertension among others were stated as causes of untimely deaths recently for persons of all races.

In as much as these diseases show no clinical symptoms, they are mostly termed as ‘Silent Killers’ and can only be detected early through a medical checkup. However, most Ghanaians don’t think it is important to stay on top of their health and conclude that checkups are for those who are evidently seen to be unwell.

The group is there appealing to the public to prioritize their health and go for frequent checks up, to reduce preventable health problems.
