British born Ghanaian Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Theophilus Nelson also known as TJ has arrived in Ghana for his upcoming duel against Ghana's own Isaac Commey of James Town Accra scheduled for November 4 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The promising fight which has been anticipated by Ghanaian living abroad is being organized by Warrior Sports Championships (WSC).
The bout will be TJ’s debut fight outside England as he takes on Issac Commey who boasts of one win. TJ has been fighting on the UK amateur MMA circuit for some years now and was the former Captain of the Ghanaian Mixed Martial Arts amateur national team, which he is now head coach of as he has turned professional.
Addressing the media on his arrival, TJ was delighted to be in Ghana and expressed his readiness for the fight.
‘’It’s great to be in the motherland, this is where Martial Arts started and my parents are from here so coming back to my roots is amazing. I feel great and am ready for war.’’
TJ has a good repute in Mixed Martial Arts as a young fighter currently undefeated with three wins under his belt.
The MMA bout comes off at the Accra Sports Stadium on November, 4th and it is a title eliminator for the first ever MMA World Championship fight coming up in Ghana on Independence day next year, 2018, according to promoter Jeff Taylor.
