Founder and 2016 flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said the man, Awal Adams, who was arrested by the police in Bawku for entering his house, did not come there because of the formation of the APC.
Contrary to neighbours’ account and that of DAILY GUIDE’s source in Bawku, Hassan Ayariga said Awal Adams did not slap him. Besides, he did not fall as a result of a slap from the man who entered his house uninvited.
According to him, Awal Adams, whom he described as a “mad man”, entered his 15-plot-fenced house uninvited on Monday, August 20, a day before the Eid-ul-Adha prayers to disturb him.
“How can this man slap me, even to the extent that I fell? It’s not true; whoever told you that lied to you. I have security men around me hence that man couldn’t have done what you were told. He entered my house and was becoming a nuisance so the police picked him up; that is all,” Hassan Ayariga explained.
When asked what the man did to merit an arrest and a lockup in a police cell, Ayariga responded “go and ask your source or the police. All I can say is that the man is a ‘mad man’ and neither did he slap me nor ask me why I formed APC.”
Checks from the police indicated that the man, Awal Adams, was surprisingly released because he seemed not to be of sound mind, thereby bringing an end to whatever led to his arrest.
