Ablakwa announces second ‘Hands off our Hotels’ demo in Cape Coast

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu and leader of the ‘Hands off our Hotels’ protest, has announced a second demonstration in the Central Region.

This follows the June 18 protest against the government's plan to sell 60% of SSNIT's shares in four hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.

Ablakwa noted increasing calls for another protest, especially from the Central Region, home to Elmina and Ridge Royal hotels.

He cited a letter from the Edina Traditional Council opposing the Elmina hotel sale. Ablakwa assured the chiefs and residents of the Central Region of a forthcoming protest if the sales aren't halted.
