Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga has praised the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for clearing former President John Dramani Mahama of wrongdoing in the Airbus scandal.
Ayariga believes the OSP’s exoneration provides the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with a campaign advantage ahead of the December elections.
The OSP's findings confirm that while Mahama was identified as Government Official 1 in the scandal, he did not play a role in the acquisition of the aircraft.
Ayariga sees this as a boost for the NDC's anti-corruption messaging, contrasting with ongoing criticisms of the current government's corruption record.
