Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen has somewhat seen his presidential fortunes brightened at the NPP National Delegates Conference with his prefered candidates taking major positions in the party.
On July 16, the governing NPP elected National Executives at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Secretary General-elect, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua shook the foundation of the party with an historic triumph over the much-fancied incumbent John Boadu.
The newly elected Secretary General, described among the inner circles as a pro-Alan candidate, led a number of National Executives with soft hearts for the Trade and Industry Minister.
Justin Kodua was joined by National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim in a massive boost for what some describe to be in favour of Alan Kyerematen.
The main possible rival for Alan Kyerematen in the presidential aspirants, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, rather saw his dwindling fortunes grounded with massive defeats to his prefered candidates.
Former General Secretary, John Boadu, who is alleged to be in the Bawumia camp, seemed to have lost his midas touch in the national exercise.
To compound the woes of the Vice President, his prefered candidate for the Chairmanship position, Kwabena Abankwa, also lost to eventual winner Steven Ayensu Ntim.
The eventual winners reflected in the National Delegates Conference somehow indicated the endorsement of the two leading candidates for the Presidential Primaries.
With a number of Regional Chairpersons winning at the regional level, some political pundits have expressed that the tide is leading in favour of Alan Kyerematen in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
