Ambulance case: Ato Forson was unfairly targeted – Bright Simons

Bright Simons, Vice President of IMANI Africa, has criticized the trial of Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, former deputy Finance Minister, as political persecution aimed at undermining democratic accountability.

In his article, Simons argued that Forson was unfairly targeted amid a political crisis and condemned the prosecution as an attempt to sway democratic processes.

On July 30, 2024, the Court of Appeal acquitted Dr. Forson, overturning the previous court's order for him to defend himself.
