Abraham Koomson, Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour, has criticized the plan to sell a 60% stake in four SSNIT hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by Food and Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.
Koomson suggested appointing Acheampong as CEO to manage the hotels instead of selling them, citing SSNIT's financial stability and the ownership of the fund by workers.
He also called for an amendment to the National Pensions Act to protect workers' assets.
The sale has been met with opposition from the TUC and MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who petitioned CHRAJ to halt the sale.
