President Akufo-Addo attended the Bakatue festival in Elmina, marking the lifting of a fishing ban.
The Omanhen, Nana Kodwo Conduah VI, and his priests performed rites at Benya Lagoon, casting a net three times.
The first catch was given to the Omanhen and then to dignitaries. The event drew many attendees, including government officials and tourists.
Akufo-Addo assured a peaceful election and promised to de-silt the lagoon and provide a bus for Edinaman SHS, donating drinks and GH¢50,000.
The Omanhen requested a festival fund and part of Elmina Castle royalties for the council, praising the new fishing harbor.
