Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, has promised to address long-standing land disputes in Ghana by making land registration free for chiefs and digitising the land tenure system.
He believes this will modernise the system, making land ownership information easily accessible online, like in advanced countries.
Currently, high registration fees prevent chiefs from registering their lands, leading to ownership disputes.
Bawumia also addressed the controversial National Cathedral project, urging the church to take the lead in finding a way forward, including exploring private-sector funding options.
