Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, is working on a private members bill to prevent legislators and officials from buying state assets.
He argued that public officials should not benefit from such sales, as they are elected to manage state assets.
Ablakwa aimed to close loopholes in the current law and ensure transparency.
He clarified that his push for the legislation was not influenced by the ownership of Rock City by an NPP member but by a desire to secure assets for future generations. Ablakwa is set to lead a demonstration against the sale of SSNIT hotels to Rock City Hotel Limited.
