Kofi Asante, the 2020 NPP parliamentary candidate for Wassa Amenfi West, has defected to the NDC, accusing his former party of making false promises about development in the constituency.
Speaking at a gathering in Nkwanta Kesse, Asante criticized the NPP for abandoning road and community development projects promised during the 2020 elections. He revealed that contractors left the site after the elections, leading him to lose faith in the party's commitment to the region.
“Our constituency has been removed from the priority list for development projects. If you’re still voting NPP, reconsider,” he urged.
Asante praised the NDC’s pledge to complete abandoned projects, emphasizing his collaboration with incumbent MP Eric Afful to drive progress in Wassa Amenfi West.
