Former President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized that sustaining democracy requires patriotic leaders who prioritize truth and honesty.
He warned that even with a good constitution and laws, unscrupulous leaders can undermine democracy if not held accountable.
Mahama cited the US as an example, where former President Donald Trump's actions showed that even mature democracies can be vulnerable.
He expressed concerns about Ghana's Electoral Commission, accusing them of bias towards the ruling party and calling for fairness in the upcoming election.
Mahama pledged that the NDC will remain vigilant to ensure every vote counts.
