According to a survey by Professor Smart Sarpong from Kumasi Technical University, NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leads the 2024 presidential race with 38.9%, while NDC's John Dramani Mahama follows with 36.1%.
Bawumia is favored in Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Central, Eastern, North East, Western, and Western North regions, with the North East showing the strongest support at 60%.
Mahama has significant support in the Volta region at 75.7%. Other presidential candidates combined account for 3.6%, and 21.4% of voters remain undecided.
The survey, conducted from April 1 to 30, 2024, indicates a closely contested election.
