Security expert Prof. Emmanuel Kwesi Aning has raised concerns about recent remarks by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, fearing they could incite unrest during the 2024 elections.
Aning pointed to President Akufo-Addo's statement questioning how he could hand over to a leader he previously defeated, suggesting it could encourage rejection of unfavorable election results.
Similarly, Acheampong's comment that the NPP would do "whatever it takes" to win the election was seen as potentially inciting.
Aning cautioned political leaders to avoid divisive rhetoric that could undermine trust in the electoral process and fuel tensions.
