John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to establish an electric motorbike assembly plant if elected in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to motorbike riders in Ashaiman, he promised the motorbikes would be available on a hire-purchase basis, reducing reliance on petrol.
Mahama also reaffirmed his commitment to legalizing "Okada" operations, emphasizing their importance and safety.
He assured that motorbike lanes would be included in new road constructions and called for rider compliance with safety regulations, including wearing reflective jackets and registering to identify and eliminate criminal elements among riders.
