Deputy NDC Communications Director Malik Basintale has rejected claims by NPP running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo) that voting for John Mahama is "haram" for Muslims.
Napo made the statement during a visit to Yaa-Naa Bukali Mahama II in Yendi, sparking criticism after the video went viral. Basintale dismissed Napo's remarks as baseless and argued political choices should not be framed as religious sins.
He emphasized the NDC's contributions to Dagbon, including the Tamale Teaching Hospital and Eastern Corridor Road, adding that even Yaa-Naa would support Mahama.
Basintale also took a jab at Napo, cautioning against making divisive statements in Dagbon.
