A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications team, Ernest Kumi has asked the opposition National Democratic (NDC) to take part in the country's electoral process if they want a flawless election.
Former President John Mahama while speaking at the 28th anniversary of the largest opposition party said they will reject results of the upcoming elections in December should they suspect foul play.
“As the leader of the NDC, I wish to serve notice that we shall do all our parts to ensure that our country remains peaceful and that the electoral process proceeds smoothly, but let nobody assume that we will accept the results of a flawed election,” he cautioned.
However, Ernest Kumi says the NDC can't have their cake and eat it.
"Why are they so minded that the only register they can accept its results is the old register? What they should have done is to embrace the EC's decision to compile a new voters' register; be vigilant and ensure everything is sacrosanct and very fair to all . . . they should reflect and understand that if you want a fair election, you have to be part of the process," he said on Peace FM.
