The memorial service for the late President John Evans Atta Mills at Asomdwee Park in Accra on July 24 was disrupted by a disagreement involving Koku Anyidoho, dismissed deputy General Secretary of the NDC.
Anyidoho’s event ran over its allotted time, delaying the second event organized by the NDC and JEA Mills Memorial Heritage.
Samuel Atta-Mills, the late president’s brother, accused Anyidoho of bringing imposters to pose as family members and prevent the NDC's ceremony.
He also suggested Anyidoho was supported by powerful individuals.
Mercy Araba Ahema Quarshie, sister of Atta Mills, condemned the incident as ugly and disrespectful.
