Kofi Adams, MP for Buem, has reaffirmed that former President John Mahama remains firmly against illegal mining, or "galamsey," as he leads the NDC in the 2024 election.
Adams stated that Mahama consistently calls for stringent action, particularly targeting influential figures orchestrating galamsey.
During a JoyNews interview, Adams highlighted Mahama’s focus on accountability to address environmental harm and community impacts.
He criticized the current government for mishandling the issue, urging a united effort involving law enforcement and local engagement.
Mahama’s stance, he said, emphasizes prosecuting major culprits rather than minor operatives.
