Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections and IT, has assured supporters that a John Mahama-led government would remove several taxes, including the e-levy, e-betting tax, COVID-19 levy, and emission tax.
Speaking in Nkawkaw, Dr. Boamah criticized these taxes, which he dubbed “BECE taxes,” as burdensome and unfair to Ghanaians, especially for digital transactions.
He blamed Dr. Bawumia and the current administration for poor economic management, which he claims led to the tax increases.
Dr. Boamah called Dr. Bawumia a "theoretical economist" disconnected from Ghana’s economic realities, urging Ghanaians to support Mahama’s promise to relieve them of these taxes.
