Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged NPP members and supporters to avoid infighting over the selection of a running mate for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2024 elections.
At a press conference, he emphasized the importance of unity and advised MPs to be mindful of their public comments.
Afenyo-Markin assured that Bawumia, in consultation with party elders, will make a beneficial decision for the party.
Reports indicate that Bawumia has consulted President Akufo-Addo, presenting Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his choice, which has sparked some internal disapproval.
