The Minority caucus in Parliament has invited Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to participate in the debate on the 2024 mid-year budget review.
This invitation is due to his role as Chairman of the Economic Management Team.
Deputy Minority Whip, Ibrahim Ahmed, highlighted that parliamentary rules permit sitting Vice Presidents to engage in floor debates.
This move follows the Minority’s call for Dr. Bawumia to debate their economic spokesperson rather than their flagbearer, John Mahama.
The debate is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the parliamentary chamber.
