The Minority caucus in Parliament has planned to protest on July 30, 2024, demanding the resignation of Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor Dr. Ernest Addison, his deputies, and board members.
They cite concerns over alleged wasteful spending on BoG's new headquarters and the Governor's residence, with costs reportedly escalating far beyond initial estimates.
The protest route will span from Kwame Nkrumah Circle to the BoG headquarters in Accra.
The Minority previously protested after BoG reported significant financial losses, accusing Governor Addison of unauthorized money printing and debt write-offs, claiming the bank is insolvent and seeking government recapitalization.
