John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has proposed measures to address Ghana's exchange rate challenges.
He attributed the crisis to the government's focus on increasing revenue without controlling high expenditures.
Mahama emphasized the need for fiscal discipline and consolidation, highlighting that merely ramping up revenues without cutting expenditures leads to an imbalanced budget deficit.
He noted that the budget deficit had reached as high as 15% of GDP. Mahama made these remarks during a media engagement at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.
