The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has distanced itself from comments made by Comrade Dela Edem about former President John Agyekum Kufuor, labeling them "unsavoury and distasteful."
In a statement signed by National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC noted that Comrade Edem has retracted his remarks and issued an unqualified apology.
The party reiterated its respect for the elderly and national statesmen, calling for decency in public discourse.
The NDC also advised its communicators to focus on promoting John Dramani Mahama's policies for the December 7 elections.
Additionally, the party raised concerns about alleged fake news spread by New Patriotic Party (NPP) operatives and urged the media to hold offenders accountable.
