NDC pledges tuition-free education for first year university students

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged tuition-free education for first-year students at public universities as part of its youth-focused reforms.

Announced during the party’s youth manifesto launch on August 12, 2024, this policy aims to enhance access to higher education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The NDC's broader agenda includes a “24-hour economy policy” to boost job creation and productivity, increased access to quality education, affordable healthcare, and the creation of a Ministry for Youth Development to support and harness the potential of Ghana’s youth.
