Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, former Minister and Chairman of the NDC Business Development Committee, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for poor economic management compared to former President John Mahama's administration, which he claims had better oversight.
In an interview on Asempa FM, he stated that despite the existence of an Economic Management Team (EMT), real control rests with the Finance Minister, who has a close relationship with President Akufo-Addo, making accountability challenging.
He noted that attempts by over 90 NPP MPs to remove the Finance Minister were thwarted by the President's support, indicating a nepotistic influence on economic governance.
