NDC's Deputy National Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, has accused the government of misusing the Ghana Armed Forces, claiming soldiers are being used as personal drivers and security for politicians and officials.
He alleged that soldiers were also overseeing illegal mining operations for NPP leaders, and criticized a controversial statement made by an NPP candidate urging illegal miners to resist security personnel.
Gbande called for the arrest of the candidate and a regional minister, stating that many innocent young men have been jailed for illegal mining while officials go free.
