Incumbent New Patriotic Party's Member of Parliament for the Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Mr.Joe Ghartey, has received an endorsement from delegates to run on the ticket of the Party in the December general elections.
The MP, who went unopposed, duly picked forms and went through vetting as laid down by the party and received popular acclamation at a ceremony held at the renovated Railway University at Essikado in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan area of the Western Region.
The overwhelmed Candidate said, "I am humbled by this sincere support on the part of the delegates....we cannot say we have done a yeoman's job during these tenures but I am glad they still believe in my ability to deliver".
So far, the MP has initiated numerous developmental projects under his 16-year reign as MP in Essikado-Ketan Constituency.
He initiated the construction of basic educational infrastructure at Inchaaban Nkwanta, Ntaamakrom, and Sofokrom, which saved many children the daily hassle of crossing road and some untimely crashes that even caused sorrow among families.
Some secondary schools that benefitted also included the Ahantaman Girls, Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School, Diabene Secondary Technical, and Sekondi College.
Mr. Ghartey said he would continue to work hard to improve upon the lives and living conditions of members of the constituency after a resounding victory by him and his party in the 2020 general elections.
