John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has vowed to conduct a thorough investigation and forensic audit of the National Cathedral project if elected president in December.
Speaking in Accra, Mahama voiced concerns about the project's transparency and accountability, highlighting the need to scrutinize financial transactions, procurement processes, and resource utilization to identify any irregularities or corruption.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring value for money and holding those responsible accountable, noting the initial assurance that public funds would not be used, yet over 300 million cedis have reportedly been spent.
