John Dramani Mahama, the 2024 NDC flagbearer, has vowed to eliminate free fuel and other benefits for government officials if elected.
In a meeting with the EU Ambassador, Mahama outlined cost-saving measures, emphasizing that only official government vehicles would receive state-provided fuel.
He also plans to end government payments for utility bills and other services for top officials.
Additionally, Mahama announced tax incentives for registered Ghanaian businesses and a transition to electronic payments, aiming to phase out cash by 2028 in both public and private sectors.
