The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it will not be intimidated in its quest to recapture power in the 2020 general elections.
The General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia was speaking to party supporters at the Police Headquarters Tuesday evening after its Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo was granted bail after being arrested over recent kidnappings.
The NDC has accused the government of using state security agencies to frustrate them but says it is focused on working to re-capture power in the upcoming elections and will not be distracted.
“Nobody should relent because our national pledge and national anthem urge every citizen to fight the oppressor’s rule and let us assure everybody that nothing can break the resolve of a determined people."
"We are marching forward to victory with or without this intimidation.”
Chairman Ofosu Ampofo is expected to report to the Police station on Thursday for investigations to continue.
