Over 1,000 supporters of the 2020 independent parliamentary candidate and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Assin South, Central Region, have defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), pledging support for the current MP, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour.
Defectors, including former campaign leaders Emmanuel Asamoah Boahen and Emmanuel Tamakloe, cited Fordjour’s contributions to local development, reduced unemployment, improved road networks, and enhanced education as reasons for their switch.
Some defectors expressed dissatisfaction with the NDC and the independent candidate, believing Fordjour to be the best choice for the constituency’s growth.
