Parliament will reconvene today, November 7, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre, following Speaker Alban Bagbin’s call for a session at 10:00 AM.
The agenda will address issues stalled due to a major standoff after Speaker Bagbin declared four parliamentary seats vacant, sparking opposition from the Majority caucus.
Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin challenged this decision in the Supreme Court, which temporarily reinstated the seats.
Tensions escalated as the Minority caucus occupied the Majority’s side in Parliament, leading to an adjournment. Today’s session is expected to be pivotal in resolving the deadlock and resuming legislative work.
