Mohammed Kassim, the NDC chairman for Gomoa West, has been detained at the Bakaano police station in Cape Coast.
His arrest, which occurred on the night of September 18, 2024, is suspected to be related to a violent clash between NDC and NPP supporters on September 16.
The conflict arose during the presentation of road construction machinery, with NDC supporters protesting the display of NPP candidate posters on the equipment.
The situation escalated into a scuffle, involving allegations of a gun being pulled and a worker being stabbed.
NDC members are now demanding Kassim's release.
